Trail description
This is the only trail that takes you over the walls of the Caldera. It is part of the old pathway that used to link both sides of the Island, known as Camino de Chasna. The trail journeys up from La Cañada del Montón de Trigo to La Degollada between the mountains of Pasajirón and Guajara. In the Canary Islands, the word 'degollada' means hill. The view from the hilltop is spectacular, overlooking Teide National Park and the southern side of Tenerife. One of the most visible features from here is the El Río ravine, which starts from this hill.
