Paragliding

• Within the security areas of airports, aerodromes, air corridors and restricted flight areas.
• From sunset to sunrise.
• Inside the clouds.
• Over large groups of people.
• Over villages, towns or cities at a height of less than 300 metres (985 feet), except during emergency landing manoeuvres.
• Any other prohibitions established by the competent authorities or by the FECDA.

All year round, though it always depends on the specific weather conditions in each area on a given day.

The best time of the year for expert flyers is from October to May.

By areas:

• South-east, Taucho - From September to May.
• North, La Corona - Autumn, spring and summer.
• East, Ladera de Güímar - From autumn to spring, and often in summer.
• Cumbre de Izaña - All year round.

If you just want to experience the thrill of flying, there are specialised companies that can take you on a tandem flight.

If you would like to learn how to paraglide yourself, you can take one of the courses organised by the official schools and associated companies.

If you already know how to glide, you can go out on your own with your own equipment (equipment is very personal and gliders do not usually like to hire it).
